Vetting the Finalists

We use a qualified committee of judges to ensure that all nominees receive a fair chance of winning their category and meet the criteria and requirements for the category.

After the nominations close, all nominees are vetted to ensure they meet the category requirements and criteria. All vetted nominees are considered by our committee of judges, who then choose 3 finalists per category based on the details of their commitments and achievements. Our judging committee comprises five Chamber Members who have extensive experience living and working in Squamish. They possess deep knowledge of the area and are recognized as active leaders and influential figures within the community.

The process will be as follows:

  • Public nominations | 12:00am, September 15, 2024 - 11:59pm, October 6, 2024
  • Judges vet nominees | (3 finalists will be chosen per category) | October 15-31, 2024
  • Public voting | November 1, 2024 [12:00am] - November 15, 2024 [11:59pm]
  • Judges finalize winners | November 16, 2024 - November 31, 2024
  • Awards Gala | December 6, 2024 | Doors at 5:30PM

Vetting Requirements

  • Must have a valid business license (where required) 
  • Businesses must be Squamish Chamber members in good standing 
  • Individuals can be past, current, or future Squamish Chamber members 
  • Must be located or doing business in the Squamish and Howe Sound region  
  • Must satisfy the award criteria  
  • Must provide permission to use their profile/company profile/photo/logo before, during, and after the event
