At Healthy Hearts Healthy Minds we believe that building strong community means creating a place where people feel supported, valued and connected. That belief extends beyond the children currently enrolled in our programs. It extends to the families, youth leadership campers, staff and alumni who continue to be a part of Healthy Hearts, Healthy Minds year after year.
Healthy Hearts, Healthy Minds deserves consideration for the Community Builder award because community building is not an addition to what we do- it is the foundation of what we do. For 10 years we have put tremendous thought, time, energy and heart into creating meaningful opportunities for Squamish children and youth to grow, belong, and eventually give back to the same community that helped raise them.
Founded in 2017, we have now entered into our tenth year of programming, with all of those year rooted entirely in Squamish. We are incredibly proud of that our programming for local children has grown into something families, staff, campers and alumni consider to be a close-knit community and, for many, a home where they belong.
