PearlSpace has been serving the communities in the Sea to Sky Corridor for 43 years as a grassroots organization dedicated to supporting people impacted by gender-based violence. The society has grown and evolved constantly to meet the emerging and ongoing needs of the community's with a focus on trauma informed support and emergency crisis response. Over the past 5 years, PearlSpace has broadened our scope with policies that enable inclusion for gender-diverse folks, the adoption of a decolonization action plan, and 24 hour sexual assault response for all genders. In addition, our drop in centres are a community hub for people to access resources, referrals, and to connect with support workers and community members. We have worked hard to de-stigmatize accessing our services and in turn have reached many more people in the community.
