Deanna Wampler - Social Media Strategist & Educator

Tell us about your business and why you should receive this award!

As a citizen of the Haida Nation, through my father's side, I am dedicated to supporting Indigenous organizations, entrepreneurs, and communities through my business, which specializes in digital strategy, communications, and storytelling. I aim to help mostly Indigenous clients - build strong digital presences that authentically represent their stories and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

I also take on projects where I develop and teach courses at Jelly Academy, primarily serving Indigenous peoples across the country. These courses focus on introduction to digital marketing, social media, and content creation, providing participants with practical skills to succeed in the digital landscape. Additionally, I work with Indigenous Tourism BC, leading digital storytelling projects highlighting the rich history and present-day realities of Indigenous communities.

My consulting business contributes to the success of Indigenous communities by offering strategic guidance and educational resources tailored to their unique needs. While my work reaches communities across BC and beyond, I am always looking for ways to contribute locally by supporting diversity and representation in business and community spaces. As a white-presenting Indigenous woman, I understand the importance of using my platform to uplift Indigenous voices and create opportunities for those who may not always be seen or heard.

Receiving this award would recognize the role my business plays in supporting Indigenous culture and creating positive change through digital empowerment.
