FLEURESCENT is a proudly female- and Indigenous-owned floral and event design business based in Squamish, BC. Since opening in May 2023, FLEURESCENT has grown into more than just a business—it's a symbol of representation and inspiration within the community. Our mission is to not only create beautiful floral arrangements and events but also to empower Indigenous and female youth to pursue their dreams, showing them that success is achievable at any level.
Our founder, Jessica, attributes much of her journey to the support of the Métis Nation British Columbia. During high school, she worked tirelessly to achieve top grades, enabling her to secure funding from the Métis Nation, which covered the final two years of her Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management. Without this support, Jessica would have faced significant financial barriers in pursuing her education. This experience has deepened her connection to her heritage and drives her desire to give back to the Indigenous community.
FLEURESCENT actively supports Indigenous causes by donating annually to the Indian Residential School Survivor Society and to Aura Freedom, an organization that addresses male violence against women, with a focus on marginalized Indigenous women. Additionally, Jessica devotes her time to volunteer efforts, including supporting youth entrepreneurship programs and contributing to the Squamish community.
Our business is more than just floral design—it is rooted in community, heritage, and the belief that representation matters. Through every bouquet we deliver and every event we create, we aim to inspire others to dream big and pursue their passions. Receiving the Indigenous Business Award would not only honor the hard work and dedication that have gone into building FLEURESCENT but also amplify our mission of uplifting others within the Indigenous community.
