FLEURESCENT is a floral + event design studio and boutique based in downtown Squamish. We specialize in full-scale floral and event design, curated décor rentals, and a thoughtfully designed retail space offering gifts and daily flower deliveries that bring beauty and connection to our community.
As a proud Métis woman and lifelong Citizen of the Métis Nation of British Columbia, my path to embracing my heritage has been a deeply personal and transformative journey. Growing up, my connection to my Indigenous identity was complicated — shaped by generational trauma and a lack of understanding of how those experiences affected my family. For many years, I didn't fully appreciate the significance of my Métis roots.
That changed in 2021, following the discovery of the buried children at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. It was a moment that profoundly shifted my perspective and reconnected me to my heritage in a way I had never experienced before. Since then, embracing my identity has been life-changing — both personally and professionally. It has inspired me to lead with more authenticity, pride, and purpose in everything I do.
FLEURESCENT was built entirely through grit, creativity, and hard work — without outside funding or investors. Since opening our doors in May 2023, we've earned all 5-star reviews, built a team of 4–6 employees, and become known for our modern, artful aesthetic and deeply personal approach to floral and event design. I wear many hats — designer, business owner, leader, and busy mom to three young boys — but what drives me most is creating something meaningful and lasting for my family and community.
Winning this award would feel like coming full circle — a recognition not only of the business I've built, but of the woman and proud Métis entrepreneur I've become through that journey.
