Groms Physio + Co

Tell us about your business and why you should receive this award!

Thank you for this nomination- WOW! What an honour.

Groms Physio + Co is a paediatric multidisciplinary health care clinic catering to kids (and moms!) in the Sea to Sky. One of the greatest attributes about Groms Physio + Co is that we are innovative and adaptable! When the company first opened, it was only meant to cater to children from ages 0-18. As we grew, we saw there was such a huge demand and gap in care for pre/post natal care. As such we harnessed the opportunity and now service Moms, as well as Groms! Our well-rounded team allows us to provide a holistic approach to collaborative health care for our community for a very specific population. The team naturally collaborates, we are exceptionally passionate, and we all love to live, work and play on the unceded traditional territory of the Squamish Nation, St'át'imc Nation Coast Salish Peoples.

Collaborative Care: Our clinic brings together a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, massage therapists, rehab assistants, strength and conditioning coaches, clinical counsellors, psychologists and of course therapy-dogs! This collaborative approach ensures that every Grom and Mom in Squamish receives well-rounded, personalized care, addressing not only their physical but also their emotional, and developmental needs.

Child-Centered Environment: If you've ever been inside our clinic, it doesn't look like a typical health-care facility. Our walls are covered with murals, there are toys and games everywhere, and there's laughter beaming from the walls (thanks to our neighbours for their patience). Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all children regardless of gender, race, sexuality, ability or diagnosis. Our clinic is designed to be engaging and fun, helping to reduce anxiety and make healthcare a positive experience for kids.

Community Engagement: We actively host and participate in local events and initiatives to empower families with knowledge about child health and wellness. Our commitment to community education fosters healthier lifestyles and preventive care. One of our most notable community engagement initiatives from this year was an overwhelming success. Groms Physio + Co hosted a Pediatric Practitioner Night for Sea-to-Sky health care providers from both the public and private health care settings to meet, connect and hold gratitude for each other and our work. We had over 50 practitoners come out which was absolutley mind-blowing!! In addition to local practitioner initiatives, we also offer free, weekly infant development drop in programs, with guest speakers from around the Sea-to-Sky corridor coming to present on specialized topics like infant sleep consultants, miscariages/infant loss support, pediatric dentistry, infant sign-language specialists, infant nutritionists, car-seating specialists, etc. It provides a great place for new (and returning) parents to learn about reputable, specific information pertaining to their child's development. Entry is free, but we collect non-parishable food donations for PearlsSpace. We also do frequent presentation at SCSS for the HPOP families that attend.
